- They jointly offer an informative webinar on June 10 to encourage Digital District companies to join this European project to support SMEs
Alicante, Friday, May 29, 2020.- The Comunidad Valenciana Digital District, in collaboration with the University of Alicante (UA), organizes a digital meeting on June 10 to present the companies linked to our technology hub the Enterprise Europe Network ( EEN) and its consortium for the Valencian Community and the Region of Murcia, EEN_SEIMED. The Webinar ‘Enterprise Europe Network. The European Commission supports the internationalization of your company ’will take place from 10 am and its registration is free from the agenda section of the Web www.distritodigitalcv.es.
Created in 2008 and financed by the European Commission, the EEN is the world’s largest network of support for the innovation and internationalization of SMEs, at the commercial, technological and financial levels. Currently, the EEN has more than 60 member countries, and more than 3,000 experts and nearly 600 organizations are part of it, (including chambers of commerce, business associations, regional development agencies, institutes of research, universities, technology centers and innovation centers (mainly European), which manage more than 7,500 business opportunities.
EEN_SEIMED is the consortium for the Valencian Community and the Murcia Region of the EEN, and the University of Alicante has been part of the network since its creation through the Research Results Transfer Service (OTRI). The UA is also the representative entity of the EEN_SEIMED consortium in the EEN’s ICT Sector Group, which includes those nodes especially interested in the innovation and internationalization of this sector.
The objective of this network is to help companies develop their full potential and innovative capacity through internationalization, technology transfer and access to EU projects and funding. This line of work fully coincides with the commitment of the Valencian Government, through the Department of Innovation, Universities, Science and Digital Society led by Carolina Pascual, to promote modernization and inclusive innovation in the Valencian Community.
In fact, this initiative is the first in which the Comunidad Valenciana Digital District and the University of Alicante collaborate together after the inclusion of Alicante as the headquarters of one of the reference centers for research in Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Europe, which will be connected to almost twenty centers in eleven European countries under the European network of excellence in AI research (ELLIS, European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems).
The launch of this ELLIS center is one of the actions included in the Artificial Intelligence Strategy of the Comunidad Valenciana, and will allow Alicante to work with the best European researchers in AI and promote synergies with the entrepreneurial ecosystem and the transfer of investigation.
