• The facilities of Digital District have hosted a forum this Tuesday, April 20, that has allowed companies in the technology hub to bring their technological solutions to the tourism sector.

Alicante, Wednesday April 14, 2021.- Comunitat Valenciana Digital District and Invat-tur (Valencian Institute of Tourism Technologies) have organized a Conference on ‘Technological solutions for tourism companies’, which was held this Tuesday April 20 to address initiatives of innovation linked to the improvement of the management and provision of tourist services specially adapted to the current context.

This event has been developed within the framework of the joint collaboration between both entities: ‘Knowledge transfer Digital District – Network of Smart Tourist Destinations of the Region of Valencia’, whose objective is that companies under the umbrella of the technological hub can bring technological solutions closer to the tourism sector.

Throughout the meeting, a selection of companies that are part of Digital District hub explained the details of the solutions developed to address aspects of great interest to companies in the tourism sector, such as: air quality control; the automation of functions in hospitality; the so-called smart lockers; the use of digital tools that allow Facial Recognition and the centralization of processes and clients; and the design of software for loyalty via Wifi and for sales and management.

The event “Technological solutions for tourism companies” has had the participation of the regional secretary of Tourism, Francesc Colomer and the general director of SPTCV, Antonio Rodes, who have open the meeting, followed by the director of Tourist Intelligence of the Region of Valencia, Mario Villar, who moderated the speakers’ interventions. The closing of the act has been in charge of the regional councillor of Innovation, Universities, Science and Digital Society, Carolina Pascual.

The forum has had a hybrid format (face-to-face – online) and has been broadcast in streaming   (https://youtu.be/IVUcRlC9ZJ4) from the Salón de Cristal of Building 1 of the Digital District. In-person attendance was limited to a maximum of 40 people.
