Digital District has received today the visit of the General Director of Telecommunications and New Technologies of the Government of the Canary Islands, Víctor Manuel Melián
Alicante, Wednesday, September 29th, 2021 – Distrito Digital Comunitat Valenciana has received today the visit of Víctor Manuel Melián, General Director of Telecommunications and New Technologies of the Canary Islands Government, interested in knowing both the facilities and the strategies of dynamization of the work of the hub for the attraction and retention of companies and tech talent.
For Distrito Digital it has been a pleasure to receive the delegation from the Canary Islands and to present the privileged conditions and value-added services offered by the digital ecosystem to the 400 companies, entities and organisations that make up its fabric in its first three years of life.
Throughout the morning, Víctor Manuel Melián was able to see first-hand the spaces of Distrito Digital in the Ciudad de la Luz complex in Alicante, and of the Regional Ministry of Innovation, Universities, Science and Digital Society, where he was received by the Director General for Innovation, Sonia Tirado, and by the SDG for the Advancement of the Digital Society and Artificial Intelligence, Matías Mas Gisbert.
He then held a meeting with the heads of the companies driving the three international Open Innovation Challenges currently underway, to learn about the dynamics of these challenges in attracting startups from around the world and developing innovation solutions in the fields of tourism, natural disaster prevention and health.
It should be noted that the Digital District team has already participated this year in Navarra Digital Territory, a meeting in which different national and international technological enclaves of reference could share their experiences and present their operating models to serve as sources of inspiration for other technology hubs.
In line with this line of work, Distrito Digital is in contact with other technology hubs that share this commitment to promoting the new economy, such as the Parque Tecnológico de Andalucía Digital Innovation Hub, in Málaga, with the Directorate General of Telecommunications and Digitalisation of Navarra and with the Barcelona Tech hub, which the Director General of Sociedad Proyectos Temáticos and CEO of Distrito Digital, Antonio Rodes, is visiting today.
